Girls' Football Wednesday, 17 Aug 2005

SFA trials for the Under 15’s Tournament in Germany took place at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday 9 August. 34 girls from various football teams across Scotland competed for the 18 places which were announced by coach Tony Gervaise today.

Scotland will be joining hosts Germany, Canada and The Netherlands over five days. Their first match will be against Germany on Thursday 29 August, Canada on Wednesday 31 August and the Netherlands on Friday 2 September.

An invitation to such a prestigious tournament highlights the wealth of young, talented girl footballers in Scotland and the competition will give them experience in the international arena. This in turn will develop them into the ‘A’ Squad stars of tomorrow and improve the standing of women’s football on the world stage.
