Hibs U 15s Girls 2 : Paisley U 15s Girls 1:  Played at St Augustines, Edinburgh on 18 March 2006

A dry but windy Saturday saw Hibs U15 Girls take on Paisley Saints in the Scottish Cup.

There was a sluggish start by both teams with most of the play concentrated in the middle of the park.  Hibs seemed a bit more committed than their opponents however and created a number of chances with probing runs through the middle and on the flanks.

It was no great surprise when Emma opened the scoring with a low shot past the keeper after being put through by Charlotte on 16 minutes.

This spurred Paisley into action and they nearly got one back a little later but Coral was able to clear the danger.  Hibs fought back with a good run by Gemma who saw her shot go just past the post.  Paisley were playing a dangerous game with their offside trap and were almost caught out with some great runs by Emma and Gemma following up through balls from Rosie and Gillian.

Rebekah and Melia in the Hibs defence were dealing effectively with the Paisley attack.  There was not much they could do about the Paisley equaliser that came from a looping shot from Emma Deacon on 33 minutes.

Hibs countered but despite forcing three corners before halftime were not able to regain the advantage.

Hibs were quickly on the attack in the second half. There was a good run from Danni on the left wing and Bryoni was unlucky with a shot that went just over the bar.

Paisley were still in it however and Charlotte had to clear a shot off the line.

At the other end Bryoni just missed after a great run from Emma on the left.

Hibs finally got what they deserved when Gemma bundled the ball over the line after a four pass move from the centre of the park involving Rosie, Gillian, Emma and Gemma.

Paisley were not finished however and a great save from Laura in the Hibs goal saved a certain equaliser. Paisley continued to pile on the pressure but with good defending from Kirsten and Rebekah Hibs held out to go through to the next round.
