Hibs 3 Stonehaven 0

Hibs met Stonehaven in the Semi Final of the Scottish Cup at Stirling University, the league leaders of their respective leagues battled out a goalless first half. After the break Hibs took the lead when Susan Blyth crossed for Sarah Archibald to head home, Hibs continued to probe the Stonehaven defence while Stonehaven tried to hit on the break. Fifteen minutes into the second half Claire Weir entered the fray and changed the game rumbling up the Stonehaven defence before converting two well taken goals to put the tie out of reach of Stonehaven. Hibs two full backs Susan Blyth and Diane Fyfe were top performers on the day carrying out their defensive duties as well as getting forward to support the midfield at every opportunity. I would like to thank the Stonehaven girls and their coaches who were positively graceful in defeat and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.
