SCOTS CREATE HISTORY BUT LOSE TO DUTCH

Scotland Under-15 Girls squad created history by taking part in their first International, when they travelled to the Netherlands to take part in the First National Day in Holland. But it was not to be a winning start for the Young Scots, as they went down to a goal, midway through the first period before a late second effort from the Dutch ended any hope of a comeback.

Head Coach Tony Gervaise commented,” The match was great experience for the youngsters, and they really played well throughout, creating a number of opportunities, particularly during the second half.

Overall it was an excellent performance and really they deserved to take something from it”.

Scotland’s Under-17 squad furthered their development with a match against their Dutch counterparts, but on this occasion, they went down 1-0 to an experienced Dutch side.

The Scots were slow to start, and were a goal behind midway through the opening period, however they grew in stature during the second half, and with some luck might have salvaged a draw.

The Scots may have gone down in their latest encounter, but the experience of playing against side’s such as the Dutch will have gone a long way in their development, but they will have taken confidence from the chances created throughout the match.
