SCOTLAND U17 0 SCOTLAND U19 5 Scotland U17's found it very tough against their older opponents but did well to keep going throughout the game. The 17's started of brightly and played well in the first ten minutes of the game however after that it was backs to the wall with the 19's taking a grip of the game and showing the spectators what a strong outfit they are and why they have qualified for the European Championships. The 17's will have learned from the experience and will hopefully reach the standard of the current 19's over the next couple of years. |

| An article from US Newspaper on Hibs Girl Claire Crosbie |
Rocky signs Scottish soccer playerClaire Crosbie, a defender on Scotland's U-17 national soccer team, has signed a letter of intent to join the women's program at Rocky Mountain College this fall. Crosbie, who is from Edinburgh, Scotland, is one of seven freshmen recruits signed recently by Rocky coach Richard Duffy. "She's actually a national champion badminton player," Duffy said of Crosbie. "She's a pretty good athlete." The list of new recruits also includes: Megan Spieser, a defender from Casper, Wyo.; Kristen Sprague, a goalkeeper from McCall, Idaho; Anya Jackson, a defender from Great Falls; Shawna McGee, a midfielder from Olympia, Wash.; Melanie Cox, a defender from Billings Senior; and Nina Andersson, a goalkeeper from Kalmar, Sweden. Cox was an all-state Class AA player for the Broncs last fall, while Sprague was an all-state player on a state championship team in Idaho. Andersson attended National Soccer School in Sweden. Duffy, who is from Scotland, said he is "still looking for three or four high quality players to bring in" for the coming season. Rocky will begin preseason drills on Aug. 15. The Lady Bears begin their season with exhibition matches at Idaho State University (Aug. 21) and the University of Montana (Aug. 22). |
