GIRLS Hibs Girls played hosts to Cumbernauld Cosmos and the spectators who turned out witnessed a very exciting and competitive game. At the end of the regulation 70 minutes the score was tied at 2-2 and extra time was required. Cumbernauld gained the upper hand and ran out 4-2 winners in the end. Hibs young side can take credit from their performance after long spells of domination in the first half gave them a 1-0 lead. After the turn around Hibs doubled the score to take a 2-0 lead, half way through the second half the wind raised towards the Hibs goal and Cosmos enjoyed a period of pressure resulting in two goals to tie the game. A goal in each period of extra time gave Cosmos the win which ensure their progress into the semi-finals. Hibs Girls wish them good luck for the remainder of the competition. |
